In the summer of 2025, YAYA partnered with SLP to pilot our new Advocacy Project Curriculum, a unique opportunity for students to engage in hands-on advocacy through multimedia. The projects were designed to help students practice creating compelling presentations that highlight key aspects of our program, including the importance of teens spending time in the outdoors, the positive impacts of nature on mental health, and why outdoor programs are essential for youth development. Students were given digital cameras to document their week and explored multiple formats for their presentations-- including creative videos, podcasts, and traditional slide decks, allowing them to express their ideas in ways that best suited their strengths and creativity.
A huge thank you to Vida Verde for allowing us this opportunity to work with your program and students!
